Personal Logo
BEATS BY IBZ Ibz is a Sierra Leonean Producer and Engineer from South London. He needed a logo that represented him and gave me full creative liberty to create something fun. His beats range from Drill and Grime to Alternative and Pop so I opted not to incorporate any iconography specific to one music style. I also wanted to be mindful of future growth as a musician with his interests in musical instruments and songwriting. The final logo is a culmination of Ibz personality, culture, and energy.

THE TORCH When creating this logo I wanted to pull from the core of Ibz’s background being Sierra Leonean. The torch iconography comes from the country’s crest, symbolizing peace and dignity. I chose to color the bands on the torches the same as the country’s flag to tie these concepts together.
THE FIRE The fire came about naturally after that as an addition to the torch. Fire in slang terms is also used to describe something that’s exceptionally good which felt fitting and is often used to describe music. I created sharp edges on curved shapes to evoke the energy of fire when creating the icon for Ibz to go atop the Torch.
THE BADGE Because Ibz is still a British producer, he also wanted a logo that didn’t include the Sierra Leonean flag colors. I created the badge Icon to include an established date, the year he was born, and his producer tag You know Ibz made this right? I continued to pull the energy of fire through to this mark as well as it calls out his talent making fire beats.
